Wilmetta "Sissy" Cougill

Wilmetta “Sissy” Cougill, 66 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Massac Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Wilmetta loved life and if you knew her, you knew there was never a dull moment with her. She was tough, but she loved hard. Family was extremely important to Wilmetta, especially her grandkids and attending family reunions. She enjoyed dancing, horses, animals, gardening, fishing and camping (just to name a few), and her bright spirit and love are going to be deeply missed.

Wilmetta is survived by her children, Wilma Lee Landers (Randy Adams), Chris Cougill (Tracy), David Cougill, Al Cougill, Gina Kotter, Jeff Hertter and many other of her “long-lost kids”; grandchildren, Ashely Underwood, Christina Cougill, Christopher Cougill, Adam Cougill, Dalton Cougill, Austyn Underwood, Samantha Wilcox, Nathan Board, Lenisha Board; great grandchildren, Adam, Alex, and Ariel Board; plus many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Edgar and Goldie (Crider) Curry; husband, Floyd L. Cougill; and brother, David Curry.

Visitation will be held from 10: 00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23rd at the funeral home.
