William "Bill" White

William “Bill” White, 70 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Baptist Health Paducah with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Bill retired after 40 years from the railroad industry. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Bill is survived by his son, David White and wife Courtney; daughter Karla Varvel and husband Ricky; grandchildren, Rosalie White, Levi White, Christopher Flach, Tyler Flach, Lucas Stahl, and Madalyn Owens; two great grandchildren, Elliot Flach and Hazel Flach; sister, Doris Meredith; brother, Donald White; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parent, John and Gladys White; wife, Paula White; siblings, Vickie White, Sondra White, Nancy Hill, Roberta Adams, Larry White, and infant twin, Mary.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22nd at the funeral home.
