Wilbur “Bango” Lindsey, 56 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home. A celebration of life will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Bango was employed as a custodian through the Massac Unit #1 School District and was the Massac County High School JV football coach and girl’s bowling coach. He loved football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and spending time with his family.
Bango is survived by his wife of 19 years, Barb Lindsey; daughters, Gabrielle Moore and husband Shaquille, Loren Lindsey and Carey Lindsey; grandchildren, Braylin, Brystol, Khaden, Kyrie, Lennox, and Elena; sisters, Winona Ford and husband Kevin, Helen Lindsey, and Donna Rushing and husband Jerry; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Duncan, Jessica Young (Butch), Donnie Craycraft, Lindsey Rose, Kortney Mike (Jason), Tyler Williamson (Erica), and Kelsey Farley (Sam); several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donnie and Donna (Spencer) Lindsey.
