Wes Owens

Wes Owens, 74 of Brookport, IL, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Rosiclare Rehab and Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Allen Bolland officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

He was a retired machinist with Laidlaw Corporation, a member of the Moose Lodge in Metropolis and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Wes is survived by his wife of 45 years, Flora (Latham) Owens; 7 children, Harley Wesley Owens (Kimberly), Kevin Owens (Carolyn), William Henderson Jr. (Bennetta), Sheila Henderson, Lisa Stevens (Homer), Shawna Larrison (Ricky), and Didi Jerdon (Lance); 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Delores Taylor; bonus daughter, Sandy Obermark; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Lee and Jeanie (Cordes) Owens; one sister, Shirley Kotter; two brothers, Donald LaFond and Stanley Owens.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Owens, Michael Klotz, Jesse Owens, Jacob Lott, Chris Kotter, and Joseph Kotter.
