Virginia Ann (Duckworth) Williams

Virginia Ann Williams, 85 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Lourdes Mercy Health Paducah.

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Virginia was a member of Metropolis Church of Christ. She had worked as assistant activity director at Magnolia Manor, activity director at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, a sales associate at Dawahare’s, and then as a caregiver for her son, Keith, until his passing. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved deeply by her family and will be forever missed.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Karen Williams Eleam; grandson, William Eleam; two brothers, Joe Duckworth and Paul Duckworth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Grace Duckworth, husband of 66 years, Charles “Eddie” Williams; two sons, Gary Williams and Keith Williams; sister, Elizabeth McClure; brother, Clifton Curly Duckworth.

The family requests no fresh flowers due to allergies.
