Velma Jane (Bowman) Cole

Velma Jane (Bowman) Cole, age 83 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 3:30 am on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home followed by a service with Bro. Darrell Ricks officiating.

Jane was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Paducah.

Jane is survived by her mother, Barbara Bowman; daughters, Debra Brumley and husband Norman, Jamie Sanford and husband David, and Babetta Cole; son-in-law, Ray Terry; grandchildren, Christopher Terry, Alicia Hornback (Joe), Tosha Martin (Nakia), Joshua Jones (Jolene Taylor), Cheyenne Rankin (John Ruble); great grandchildren, Zane Doung, Aidan Terry, Ashton Hornback, Harper Hornback, Ahna Jones; sister, Barbara Bailey (Ronnie); several nieces and nephews including Robert Ray Wilkins, David Lee Wilkins, Sherry Burnett, Karen Meyer, James L. Wilkins, Nisha Bowman and Missy Bowman.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Lyniol A. and Eunice Irene Blue Bowman; husband of 57 years, Marvin Albert Cole; daughter, Alberta Terry; sister, Delores Stevens; brother, Lyniol Arthur Bowman; nephew, Terry Eugene Wilkins.
