Susan E. Anderson

Susan E. Anderson, age 68 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 9:40 am on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Metropolis Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery in Joppa.

Susan was retired from Southern Seven Head Start and attended Central Baptist Church in Burna, KY.

Susan is survived by her son, Jared Anderson and wife Paige and Blake Lewis; grandchildren, Johnny VanMeter and wife Kaitlin, Taylor Anderson, and Emma Anderson; great grandchildren, Kinsley Van Meter, Logan VanMeter, and Bentley Van Meter; siblings, Dennis Lewis and wife Barbie, Cheryl Gilbert, Shelley Lewis, and Tina Lawless; several nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elinore (Trehey) Lewis; siblings, Patrick Lewis, Michael “Tykie” Lewis, Timothy Lewis, Shannon Root, infant brother Charles, and infant sister, Laura.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Pallbearers will be Jared Anderson, Blake Lewis, Timmy Lewis, Cody Collins, Travis Collins, Catlin Collins, James Johnston, Steven Johnston, and Matthew Lewis.
