Stanley Earl Gilbert, Sr.

Stanley Earl Gilbert, Sr., age 73 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Victory Full Gospel Church with his son-in-law, Jason Brinker and his Pastor Chris Strong officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites.

Stanley was the owner/operator of Gilbert’s Body Shop, a member of Victory Full Gospel Church, and served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 52 years, Teresa Gilbert; children, Stanley Gilbert and wife Deisha, Angela Brinker and husband Jason, Aimee Quinn and husband Josh; grandchildren, Hannah Gilbert, Joshua Gilbert, Graham Brinker, Daxton Brinker, Evangaline Brinker, Daniel Quinn, Samuel Quinn, and Charlotte Quinn; brother, Russell Gilbert and wife Malinda; several nieces and nephews.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Elsie (Snellings) Gilbert.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening December 6, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until the funeral hour both at Victory Full Gospel Church.

Memorials may be made to Victory Full Gospel Church, 2795 Old Marion Road, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Gilbert, Josh Quinn, Graham Brinker, Russell Gilbert, Aaron Gilbert, Ronel Glass.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Daxton Brinker and Joshua Gilbert.
