Shirley Porter

Shirley Porter, age 84 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 6:43 am on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the IOOF Cemetery with her granddaughter, Lauren Porter officiating.

Shirley was a member of Twelve Oaks Baptist Church in Paducah, KY.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clifford Porter; sons, Brian Porter and wife Frances and Doug Porter and wife Mary; grandchildren, Lauren Porter, Ben Porter, and Adam McManus; sister, Faye Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Blaine and Phronie (Knight) Slagle; sisters, Carolyn Short, Catherine “Betty” Thomasson, and Hannah Helm; brother, Jack Slagle; and an infant brother.

There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the services.
