Sherry Don Kammler

Sherry Don Kammler, age 63 of West Frankfort, IL, formerly of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at her residence.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Shelton officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Sherry retired after working many years for Blue Cross and Blue Shield and WPS in medical billing. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved her Shih Tzu dogs, swimming pool, gardening, and baking and delivering cookies to her neighbors.

Sherry is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ron Kammler; brother, Timothy Schmidt and wife Brenda; sister-in-law, Patty Bird; aunt, Janice Kidd; two nieces, Madison Schmidt and Kacy Linton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrel Ray and Karol (Kidd) Schmidt; grandparents, Spence and Dorothy Kidd and Alfred and Alberta Schmidt; one brother, Terry Schmidt.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28th at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given in Sherry’s name to Hospice of Southern Illinois 305 South IL, Belleville, IL 62220.
