Sharon Kay (Parker) Borden

Sharon Kay Borden, age 81 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:42 pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the Massac Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Coram officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Sharon was a member of Seven Mile Baptist Church, who loved camping and spending time outdoors.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 14 years, Jerry Borden; daughter, Paula Reineking and husband Ashley; son, Dwayne Wieneke and wife Susan; grandchildren, Elizabeth Wieneke (John), Jennifer Hawthorne (Mitch), Luke Wieneke (Jessie), Casey Jo Reineking, and Alex Reineking; great grandchildren, Madisyn Hawthorne and Lincoln Wieneke; 4 step children; 8 step grandchildren; 17 step great grandchildren; 4 step great great grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Fred Parker; mother and step father, Margie (Johnson) Baccus and husband Jacob; 1st husband of 48 years, Cecil L. Wieneke.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Sharon’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Pallbearers will be Luke Wieneke, Alex Reineking, Mitch Hawthorne, Will Pearson, Ashley Reineking, and Mark Borden.
