Sam Owens

Sam Owens, 59 of Brookport, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023. He was born August 8, 1963 in Athens, Alabama to Ruby and Truman (Butler) Owens.

Sam was a towboat engineer for many years. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and four-wheelers.

Sam is survived by his daughter, Samantha Owens; five grandchildren, Michael Cruz Owens, Kasen Hale, Westin Hale, Zoey Bray and Olivia Owens; sisters, Vickie Goode (Sam), Cindy Mulder (Dave), and Judy Lyles (Buddy); brother, Raymond Owens; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Owens; siblings, Jeannie Owens, Arthur Owens, Truman Owens, Dale Owens, and Steve Owens.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home.
