Roy Wayne Neely

Roy Wayne Neely, age 64 of Brookport, Illinois passed away at 7:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Baptist Health Paducah surrounded by his family.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Pell Cemetery with Bro. David Atwell officiating.

Wayne was a member of Waldo Baptist Church and the Bay City Masonic Lodge #771, he was raised a Mason on November 8, 1986 at the Farmers Lodge #232. He was retired from Shawnee Correctional Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who adored his family and friends. His biggest joy was playing Santa along with his wife Mrs. Claus each year for the local children.

Wayne is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Teri Jo (Eaton) Neely; daughter, Sabrina Dawn Neely (Brandon Prewitt); son, Jeffrey Owen Neely and wife Shanna; God given daughter, Ashley Baker (Josh); grandchildren, Austin Cruise Stevenson, Landon Kieth Baker, Daniel Owen Neely, and Sawyer Brown Neely; brothers, Marvin Neely and wife Patricia and Scott Neely and wife Janice; aunts, Sherry Rushing and husband Jerry and Joyce Grantham and husband Stanley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Owen L. and Carolyn Sue (Ferguson) Neely and an infant grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 pm.

Memorials may be made in Wayne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Pallbearers will be Jack Anderson, Rance Phillips, Jimmy Carrigan, Glenn Ellis, Patrick Penrod, Justin Breedlove, Colton Nolen, Brandon Neely, and Chris Neely.
