Ronald "Ron" Stallings

Ronald “Ron” Gene Stallings of Metropolis, Illinois passed from this life unexpectedly at his home on Friday afternoon, July 4th, 2025. He was born on November 13, 1953 in Wyatt, Missouri to John O. Stallings and Betty J. Stallings.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Kelly Glass officiating. There will be no visitation. The family asks everyone to meet at the cemetery.

Ron and his father were business owners of J&R Stallings Construction based in Brookport, Illinois. He was also the owner of Ron Stallings Plumbing Heating and Air and helped many in the local area doing what he loved.  Ron was a proud union member of Local 184 Plumbers and Steamfitters and also a United Association HVAC/R instructor for over 20 years at Local 184 JATC. He was a devoted Christian member of First Baptist Church in Metropolis and a pillar of faith, a teacher and role model to many.

Ron is survived by his mother, Betty Stallings; wife of 45 years as of August 1st, Denise (Proffitt) Stallings; daughter, Jennifer Stallings; son, Christopher Stallings and wife Taylor; grandchildren, Calyssa Stallings and Camber Stallings; sister, Doris Norsworthy; nieces and nephew, Stacy Yates, Tiffany Hall, Michelle Shoulta, and Shawn Fairfield; numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Stallings and sister, Darlene Reynolds.

Memorial contributions may be given in Ron’s name to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 511, Metropolis, IL, 62960.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Stallings, Camber Stallings, Shawn Fairfield, J.D. Ward, Cole Ford, Chance Ford, Mike Helton and Marcus Helton.

Arrangements are entrusted to Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis.
