Roger Keith Korte

Roger Keith Korte, age 61 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Tuesday morning January 23, 2024 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Emmerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Roger worked for Briggs-Stratton for over 20 years, then owned and operated Korte Machinery. He was of Baptist faith and an avid Murray State basketball fan.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Aela Korte (Greg Adams); sisters, Phyllis Miller, Marsha Rice and husband Allen, and Shelly DeCaprio and husband Dave; nieces and nephews, Jamie Mizell (Sean), Alissa Harris (Chad), Amanda Quint (Uriah Barnes), Drew Quint (Melissa), Julie Burpo (Kyle), Brian DeCaprio, and Autumn Quint; several great nieces and great nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron J. and Ruth E. (Hodge) Korte; brother-in-law, Roger Miller.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
