Robert "Bob" Lee Barnes

Robert Lee “Bob” Barnes, 78 of Brookport, IL, passed away on Monday May 2, 2022 at Baptist Health Paducah surrounded by family.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Pell Cemetery with Bro. Joe Meyer officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Bob was a towboater for many years, then became a security guard and retired from Amerisource. He was a member of Brookport First Christian Church and loved traveling with his late wife, Lettie, to visit family and friends.

Bob is survived by his son, Steven Barnes and wife Brandy of Savannah, TN; stepchildren, Terry (Nourie) Goodnow and husband Brad of Alton, NH, Letitia (Nourie) Brazell and husband Kevin of Metropolis, Cathy (Nourie) Bryant and husband Gabe of Gilbertsville, KY; Jason Nourie and wife Stacey of Metropolis; grandchildren, Steven and Makayla Barnes of Savannah, TN; step grandchildren, Melissa Dassing of Brookport, Melinda Dassing of Pembrook, NH; Amy Bedell of Pennsylvania, Crystal Baird of Metropolis, Natalie Harris of Metropolis, Kendra (Nourie) Vigliotta of Manchester, NH, Heather Campbell of Paducah, KY, Matthew Nourie of Metropolis, and Alyse Nourie of Metropolis; several step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Mary Elizabeth (Hale) Barnes; wife, Lettie Barnes; stepson, Michael Nourie; step granddaughter, Mitzi Dassing; two brothers, James Ernest Barnes and Billy Barnes.
