Ricky Whalen

Ricky Whalen, age 63 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at The Refuge Church in Metropolis with Pastor Tony Morris officiating.

Ricky worked at Kotter Ready Mix for many years and retired from SRM Concrete. He was a member of The Refuge Church.

Ricky is survived by his wife of 21 years, Monica (Melcher) Whalen; daughters, Amanda Lang and husband David, Rachel Curtis and husband Mike, Dakota Staton and husband David, Karleigh Butler; grandchildren, Madison and Matt McCormick, Erick and Abby Byerley, Connor Smock, Chaylor Lang, Michael Staton, Walter Bauer, Landon Staton, Ethan Bauer, and Kaleb Staton; mother-in-law, Darlene Melcher;

Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Lee (Rick) Whalen and father-in-law, Don Melcher.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 1 pm to 2 pm at The Refuge Church, 714 Filmore Street, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
