Pearl (Forthman) O'Brien

Pearl (Forthman) O’Brien, 79 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Mercy Health Lourdes in Paducah, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Forthman Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Metropolis.

Pearl was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and had worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory. She enjoyed being outdoors and in nature. What she loved most though, was spending time with family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pearl is survived by her children, Joanie Vinson and husband Jerry of Symsonia, KY, Larry L. O’Brien and companion Chris of Marion, IA, and Sharon Hodges and husband Michael of Salem, KY; five grandchildren, Dylan Fort (Kaitlinn), Daniel Fort, Jacob Hunt (Marissa), Jordan Hunt (Julia), and Elizabeth Gilliland (Ty); five great grandchildren, Oliver Fort, Owen Fort, Harper Hunt, Elyse Gilliland, and Mia Williams; one brother, James Forthman (Sandy); several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty, Janice and Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Bessie (Pickett) Forthman; husband, Larry Ray O’Brien; sisters, Ann Kennedy, Dorothy Brown, and Betty Bonner; brothers, Murphy Forthman, Frank Forthman, William Forthman, Roger Forthman, and Theodore Forthman.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20th at the funeral home.
