Pearl King, 84, of Joppa, Illinois, passed away peacefully February 14, 2024 at home. She was born to the late Elliott and Thelma Rinehart, February 21, 1939 in Washington D.C. She married the late James E King in 1955 and they lived together in Joppa until his passing December 2021.
Pearl is survived by two daughters, Kathryn King, of Joppa and Tricia Henshaw and husband Ernie of Vienna. Four grandchildren, Lee Miller and wife Lisa (Ross) of Vienna; Sarah Tripp and husband Todd of Goreville; Ashley Henshaw, of Sandy Springs, Georgia and Austin Henshaw, of Paducah, Kentucky. Four beautiful great granddaughters, Larrah and Lennah Miller; Ellie and Evie Tripp. Pearl was preceded in death by husband James E King, parents Ellliott and Thelma Rinehart, daughters Kelly Ann and Sandra Sue, brother Jerry Rinehart and sister Patty Omohundro.
Pearl was of Baptist faith having been saved in 1966. Before she became unable to attend, she dearly loved to sing in the church choir. Pearl and Jim had a clown ministry and also went on mission trips. She went back to school and became and LPN working at Massac Memorial Hosptial. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great granddaughters. Before she became unable, she attended all of their activities. She was a CUB fan and dearly loved her animals. She also enjoyed tending to her roses and feeding the birds.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lee Miller, Austin Henshaw, Todd Tripp, Bubby Lowery, Micah Lowery, and Kevin Miller.
