Pat Dorsey

Pat Dorsey, 81 of Metropolis, IL, formerly of Goreville, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Southgate Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro, IL with Dr. Joe Buchanan officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Pat worked for many years as a Health Unit Coordinator at Shawnee Correctional Center, then went to work at Western Baptist Hospital as an RN for 20 years until her retirement in 2008. She was a member of Metropolis First Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, traveling, gospel music, cooking and spending time with her grandkids.

Pat is survived by 4 children, Todd Dorsey (Patricka), David Dorsey, Tricia Overall and Kevin Dorsey (Julie); seven grandchildren, Kate Dorsey, Erin Dorsey, Matthew Dorsey, Amelia Dorsey, Kennedy Dorsey, Kamden Dorsey and Rylan Dorsey; one sister, Donna Morena and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle Ward and Myrtle Scivally; and husband, Lonnie Dorsey.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening, November 18th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Southgate Health Care Center and Mercy Health Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Pat.
