Owen L. Neely

Mr. Owen L. Neely, age 85, of Brookport, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Southgate Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 6, 2020 in Pell Cemetery with military rites and Revs. Trad York and Jack Russell officiating.

Mr. Neely was an Army veteran. He was a police officer for 11 years, deputy sheriff for 2 years and a truck driver for DWI for 7 years. Owen was a member of Waldo Baptist Church and a life member of Bay City Masonic Lodge 771.

Owen is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Carolyn Sue Neely; sons, Wayne Neely and wife Teri, Marvin Neely and wife Patricia and Scott Neely and wife Janice; five grandchildren, Amanda Breedlove (Justin), Sabrina Neely, Jeffrey Neely (Shanna), Brandon Neely (Ashley), and Chris Neely; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Grantham (Stanley); several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Flora (Scurlock) Neely; one infant sister, Dorothy Neely; two brothers, Bobby Neely and Delmer Neely.

Visitation will be held at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2020 with Masonic rites at 6 pm.
