Otis Wiley

Otis Wiley, 74 of Brookport, IL, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Otis was a certified welder and what one could consider a cowboy. He loved to ride and break horses and round-up cattle. He was an all-around outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and trapping and is going to be dearly missed by his loving family.

Otis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary Wiley; daughters, Michelle Smith and husband Adam of DeSoto, IL and Rita Wright and husband Dan of Johnston City, IL; 4 grandchildren, Jesse Williams of Johnston City, Jacob Williams of Brookport, Taylor Bryant of Johnston City and Amber Biggers of Grand Rivers, KY; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Tanner and Shirley Tanner of Metropolis, and Lula Belle Kickasola of Brookport; brothers, Bobby Wiley of Elizabethtown, IL and J.L. Wiley of Brookport; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Landis and Freda (Stone) Wiley; sisters, Ruth Varvel and Dorothy Sexton; infant sister, Berniece Wiley; brothers, Pete Wiley, Scottie Wiley, Robert Wiley, Arlen Wiley and James V. Wiley.
