Norman Goodman

Norman Goodman, 69 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at his residence.

There will be no services.

Norman was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. He was an all-around great athlete. He played basketball in high school and was a football star. He played for the University of Missouri where he acquired his nickname, “Stormin’ Norman” and spent 4 years in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts.

Norman is survived by his siblings, Gilbert Goodman, Ronnie Goodman, Tim Goodman, and April Pope; and a handful of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Lee (Murrell) Goodman; two brothers, Bruce Goodman and Ricky Goodman; and nephew, Ryan Neal.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
