Michael Lewis

Michael Lewis, age 66 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:35 am on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Matt Snell officiating.

Michael worked for Allied Chemical for several years and was a member of Upper Salem Baptist Church.

Michael is survived by his wife of 31 plus years, Phyllis Lewis; mother, Janice Davis (David); daughters, Angella Stubblefield (Michael) and Savanna Cunningham (Wesley); sons, Randy Stowers (Jenna), Phillip Stowers (Sarah), and Brandon Stowers (Dakota); 17 grandchildren, Jordan, Jayce, Madison, Ava, Hayley, Connor, Lily, Arya, Elsie, Charlotte, Graycen, Ryan, Aubrey, Aidan, Maddie, Willow, and Emma; brother, Jeffery Lewis; half brothers,  James Lewis, and Brett Lewis; several nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Lewis; grandparents, Lester “Shine” and Agnes Lewis and Owen and Jessie Teasley.

Memorials may be made in Michael’s name to American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be Randy Stowers, Phillip Stowers, Brandon Stowers, Mike Stubblefield, Wesley Cunningham, and Jayce Cunningham.
