Maurice E. Tillie

Maurice E. Tillie, 53 of Brookport, IL, formerly of Murray, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with Bro. Bryan Braden officiating.

Maurice was born in Miami, Florida on March 25, 1969 and loved the Miami Dolphins. He attended Murray State University and was a member of Phi Beta Sigma. He attended Weaver Creek Baptist Church in Metropolis, IL. Maurice was a loving and giving man. Maurice loved people and his family; especially his kids and grandkids. He never met a stranger and wasn’t afraid to give anyone a shoulder or the moral support they needed when he was around.

Maurice is survived by his mother, Audrey Tillie; his children, Marissa Matthews, McKenzie Henson, Daniel Tillie, Blake Tillie, Ben Damron; grandchildren, Aeriel Taylor, Charles Taylor, Kyron Tillie and Kamila Tillie; one brother, Edward Tillie III; niece and nephew, Qui’Anna Tillie and Bishop Burdine; bonus children, Isaiah House, Brandi Mitchell and Brandon Mitchell; bonus granddaughter, Athena Newberry.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Tillie Jr. and grandmother, Theoria L. Wright.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home.
