Mary J. Eloise Burton, age 90 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 12:45 p.m. at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, with her family by her side. She was born February 12, 1930 to Charles Elvin and Dula Doskey (Nelson) Robinson.
Graveside and burial services will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Pastor Shara Robinson officiating.
Eloise worked as a floor lady at the Good Luck Glove Factory and at the Pepsi Cola Plant in Kankakee. She was a member of the First Church of God in Metropolis and ministered with the COPE Food Pantry for many years.
Mrs. Burton is survived by two daughters, Martha Jane Williams of Metropolis, IL and Sharon Ann Girot and husband Richard K. of Braidwood, IL; grandchildren, John R. Williams and wife Chasida, Monica R. Obermark and husband Kevin, Daniel W. Williams and wife Amy all of Metropolis, and Stephen M. Girot and wife Natalie R. of Braidwood, IL; great grandchildren, Garrett Williams and wife Crystal, Logan Girot, WesLee Williams, Ryliegh Girot, Jala Williams, Dalton Williams, and Aren Williams; two great great grandchildren, Trevor Russell and Jamison Williams; sisters-in-law, Belle Kent and Mary Ellen Burton, numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Calvin Burton; one daughter, Deborah Sue; brother, James Relton Robinson; son- in-law, Danny C. Williams; two granddaughters, Rebecca A. Girot and Rachael M. Girot.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Obermark, Logan Girot, John Williams, Daniel Williams, Stephen Girot, and WesLee Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Williams and Richard Girot.
