Louia Vernon Smith, 75 of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Hottel officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Louia was retired from Liquid Services after 25 years as a tankerman. In his free time, he enjoyed working on vehicles. He was an electrician and carpenter, and built several houses for him and his family throughout the years.
Louia is survived by his wife, Teresa P. Smith; children, Tammy Knoska, Tina Allen, Louia J. Smith, Sarah Buttrum, Sandra Buttrum, Amanda Vasquez and Jody Cantway; 15 grandchildren, Briana King, Kylie Cherry, Zachariah Baker, James Allen, Kristen Knoska Grayson Rutledge, Bryce Rutledge, Ultress Rutledge, Amillia Rutledge, Desman David Buttrum, Jacob Botello, Jessica Ortega, Javier Ortega, Brayden Vasquez, and Azlyn Vasquez; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Stettner, Diane Louise Alliston, and Mary Blankenship; brothers, James Smith and Larry Smith; several nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Molly Jean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vivian and Fern (Hubbs) Smith; wife, Judith Smith; sisters, Vallena Sumnlers, Peggy Yancey, and True Hanney; one brother, Relius Smith; son, Michael W. Gibson.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8th at the funeral home.
