Larry Rottmann

Larry “Rug Head” Rottmann, age 66 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 3:45 pm on Monday, January 1, 2024 at the Massac Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Bremer officiating.

Larry was retired from Cook Coal Terminal, a member of St. John’s Church, American Legion, and the United Mine Workers of America.

Larry is survived by his wife, Janice Rottmann; daughters, Stacey Bowles (Lester) and Brandi Stratmeyer (Matt); grandchildren, Lyndsey Watson (Chris), Mason Stratmeyer, and Mackenzie Stratmeyer; sister, Terry Barbato; uncles and aunts, Paul Horman, Elgie Rottmann (Ann), Donald Rottmann, Stanley Sielbeck (Linda), Lee Sielbeck, Alan Sielbeck (Crea); brother-in-law, Herman Fulgham; sister-in-law, Faye Cameron (Gary); mother-in-law, Blanche Fulgham; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Shirley (Sielbeck) Rottmann; sister, Teresa Kennedy (Mark); aunts, Alfredia Horman, Peggy Anderson, Gaila Sielbeck, Kay Rottmann, and Wilma Sielbeck; sister-in-law, Carolyn Fulgham; father-in-law, Herman Fulgham, Sr.; mother-in-law, Lorene Miller.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening January 4, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Larry’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
