Larry Kent

Larry Kent, age 80 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 11:10 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Pell Cemetery with Rev. David Deem officiating.

Larry was retired from Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross. After retiring, he worked as a custodian at the First Christian Church.

Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol (Youngblood) Kent; daughter, Laurie Reynolds and husband Chris; son, Jamie Kent; 4 grandchildren, Mercedes Clark, Brennan Kent, Trey Kent and Elizabeth Reynolds; and 4 great grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Alice (Jordan) Kent and a sister, Doris Owens.

There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Memorials may be made in Larry’s name to Lutheran Church of the Cross, 2601 North Avenue, Metropolis, IL 62960.
