Larry Olis Burnham, 82, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Southgate Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at IOOF Cemetery with Pastor Shane Davenport officiating and military rites. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Larry retired from EEI where he worked as a mechanic. He was of Pentecostal faith and an Army veteran who served as a paratrooper in the Vietnam era. Larry loved his family, his life, Ford cars and horses. He was an avid Massac County Patriots supporter in all sports and went to every basketball game with his wife, Rose. He was not a selfish man. He loved and supported his family, and especially enjoyed keeping and loving on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose (Fiorentini) Burnham; his daughters, Lori Jody and husband Richard, Shannon Shelby and husband Tim, and Julie Bailey and husband Sterling; grandchildren, Korey Shelby (Paige), McCall Adamson (Travis), Natalie Runkle (TJ) and Ansley Bailey; great grandchildren, Jack and Lane Adamson and Wrenley Runkle; sisters, Linda Gilbert, Cheryl Underwood and Rita Barger; brothers, Norman Burnham, Dennis Burnham and Kenny Burnham; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olis and Beulah (Herman) Burnham; sisters, Karen and Emily; and brother, Wayne.
Arrangements are entrusted to Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
