Kathy L Steele

Kathy L. Steele, age 66 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Wednesday morning November 8, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Round Springs Cemetery.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Living Waters Full Gospel Church in Joppa.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 30 years, John D. Steele; mother, Velma Ashford; daughters, Amanda Steele and Misty York (Doug); grandchildren, John Keeghan Steele, Garrett Chumbler, Tessa Chumbler, Aaron Caldwell, Josh Caldwell, Kayla Bowman, Reagan Caldwell, Hallie Bowman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Karen Oliver; mother-in-law, Brenda Steele; several nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Ashford; son, Jeremy Newberry; sister, Karla Sawyers; father-in-law, John H. Steele.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Kathy’s name to Families on the Spectrum, c/o CFSB, 3390 Park Avenue, Paducah, Kentucky 42001.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Chumbler, Aaron Caldwell, Josh Caldwell, Dylan Oliver, Jackie Sawyers, and Allen Raley.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Ricky Yates.
