Kathleen “Kay” Iber, 90 of Metropolis, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Father Michael Mujule officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Kay was retired as a secretary at Cook Coal Terminal and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Kay is survived by her four daughters, Laurie Runyon and husband Joel of Naperville, IL, Rita Gower and husband Jim, Nancy Ball, and JoAnn King and husband Mike all of Metropolis; seven grandchildren, Nathan Gower, Sam Runyon, Dylan Gower (Callie), Simone Runyon (Sean O’Sullivan), Carly Wesch (Brady), Taylor King and Alex King (Taylor); 7 great grandchildren, Jenna Gower, Ashley Gower, Jericho Gower, Breck Wesch, Kyle Kay Wesch, Stevie King; and Scottie King on the way; one sister, Doris Garman; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Margaret Cullinan; husband of 64 years, Walter Iber; and granddaughter, Ashley Brannon; siblings, Thomas Cullinan, Daniel Cullinan, Robert Cullinan, Mary Lou Bozarth and Patricia Smith.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 315 East 3rd Street, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
