June E. (Craig) Smith

June E. Smith, age 87 of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

June was an amazing chef who provided the catering at Holman House for many years. She was of Catholic faith, former president of the American Legion Post 306 Women’s Auxiliary and loved Frank Sinatra and watching old movies.

June is survived by her son, Robert Smith and wife Gina; daughter, Jennifer Smith; grandchildren, Dillon Smith (Abigale) and Elizabeth Smith (Carl); great granddaughter, Nevaeh Smith; several bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Jean McNair; brother, Arthur Craig Jr.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthus J. and Georgia (Zook) Craig; husband, Hewell Smith; siblings, Rita Bowles, Lewis Craig and Moncena Thompson.
