Mr. Joe Troutman, 96 of Metropolis, IL, left to go fishing with Jesus on Thursday, October 3, 2019.
Joe was born February 22, 1923 in Rosedale, Oklahoma to Rev. David and Grace Troutman. The family moved to Metropolis in 1930. On September 14, 1942, Joe married his high school sweetheart Dolores R. “Becky” Alliston. They were blessed with four loving children, Joe Alan, Connie Teckenbrock, Dana, and Tamara Banks.
Mr. Troutman served in the Army during World War II, was a life member of the VFW and retired from Electric Energy Inc. Joe enjoyed fishing, painting and wood carving. He was a member of 7 Mile Baptist Church and attended Word of Life Tabernacle.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years; parents; 5 sisters and one brother.
Joe will be greatly missed by his children, Joe A. and wife Glenda of Metropolis, Connie Teckenbrock of Plainfield, IL, Dana and wife Barbara of Murphysboro, IL and Tamara Banks and husband James of Paducah, KY; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Private family services were held in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Bro. Larry Lunsford officiating.
