Jesse Lee Obermark

Jesse Lee Obermark, age 75 of Metropolis, IL passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at 1:05 p.m. at the Massac Memorial Hospital.  Jesse was born July 17, 1944 to Ervin Fritz and Esther Minnie (Horstman) Obermark, who preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Emmerson officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery, with military graveside rites.

Jesse is survived by his companion, Stephanie Obermark; three brothers, Dale Obermark and wife Florence, Donald Obermark, and Paul Obermark and wife Cindy; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lula Grimes.

Mr. Obermark was a member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church and the Metropolis American Legion Post 306, where he served as Commander. He was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.  He also was a member of the Bay City Masonic Lodge # 771. Jesse loved to deer hunt and enjoyed spending time with his deer hunting buddies who gave him support and friendship.

Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23rd at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m.
