Jeff Winding

Jeff Winding, age 57 of the Temple Hill community passed away on Friday evening December 30, 2022 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis with Bro. John Windings officiating. Burial will follow in the Winding Family Cemetery.

Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman, worked at Railworks as an Operator, and was a member of Operators Local 150.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Diane Winding; father, James Lowell Winding Jr. and wife Pansy; mother, Janice Hemphill; children, Candi Winding Coder and husband Zack and Niki Winding, Jessica Baxter, Jonni Thomas, and Bobby Mathis; grandchildren, Dean Coder, Grace Coder, Skyler Baxter, Harley Baxter, Anthony Mathis, Elyjah Mathis, Remmy Mathis, and Aiden Fowler; brother, Scott  Winding and wife Paula; sisters, Carol Hopkins, Tammy Wilson and husband Tadge, and Stacy Parrett and husband Bryan; nieces and nephews, Dustin Todd Winding, Chance A. Light, Zack Winding, Leslie Winding, Brittani Harrington, Emilee Frilling, Michelle Harrington, Justin Ellis, Rowan Parrett, Mason Parrett, and Alexis Harrington; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Todd Winding; paternal grandparents, James Lowell Sr. and Loraine Winding; maternal grandparents, Vernon Morris “Sam” and Hazel Lauderdale.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
