Jean (Walker) Jones

Jean Jones, age 88 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 7:53 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Jean was a retired hairdresser and attended Brookport Church of God.

Jean is survived by her son, Donald Powell and wife Debby; step daughter, Rhonda Jones (Gary); daughter-in-law, Deanna Powell; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Ida (Walter) Walker; husband, Gilbert Jones; sons, Bradley Powell and Kenny Powell; sister, Mildred Blasdell.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10 am to 12 noon at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
