Jean (Cromeenes) Caldwell

Jean (Cromeenes) Caldwell, age 87 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 8:18 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Lee Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pell Cemetery.

Jean was of the Baptist faith.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Tammy Morthole; son, Tom Caldwell and wife Donna; grandchildren, Tanner Morthole, Cody Morthole, Anthony “A.J.” Caldwell; great grandson, Eli Morthole; sister, Alice Persson; bother, Jim Cromeenes and wife Mary Ann; several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Ella (Baker) Cromeenes; husband, Carlton “Top Water” Caldwell; grandson, Christopher Burton; sister, Carolyn Foss; brother, Bill Cromeenes.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 11 am to 12 noon at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Cromeenes, Steve Bazor, Tommy Wiseman, Trevor Wiseman, Jerry Gillette, and Jim Hicks.
