Janice M (Shinn) Lang

Janice M. Lang, age 80 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 5:58 am on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Luckie Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Janice is survived by her husband of 64 years, William Lang; daughter, Janet Parmely and husband Jim; sons, William “Willie” Lang and wife Lisa and James “Jimmy” Lang and wife Jeanne; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Atkinson, Kay Cochran and husband Charles, and Pam Webb and husband Mike; brothers, Stanley Shinn and wife Mary, Noble Shinn and wife Pam, and Billy Shinn and wife Susan; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Norma (Merkel) Shinn; grandson, Noah Lang; sister, Patricia Daniel; brother, Leon Shinn.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 12 noon to 2 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Scherer, Mark Scherer, James Lang, William “Bill” Lang, Alex Lang, and Luckie Atkinson.
