James Curtis Myers

James Curtis Myers, 44 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at home with his beloved son by his side after a brief battle with cancer.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

James was a Captain for Ingram Barge for 23 years and loved being on the river. He was a family man who loved being a father and poppa.

James is survived by his mother, Betty Myers; children, Nicholas Myers (Cassidy Lance), Jamie Vinson and Chris Vinson; grandchildren, Kaiden, Saylor and Bryn; sisters, April Reed (Tom) and Angela Lewis; brother, Kevin Myers (Melinda); several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends, especially, Zachary Brown, Jason McNeill, Josh McDaniels, Nathan Floyd, Mike “Pops” McNeill and Marlin.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Myers; grandparents, Bill and Jeanie Ellis and James and Helen Myers.
