Jack Morse

Jack Morse, age 80, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Marion, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Timothy A. Bean officiating. Burial will follow with military rites in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Jack was a lifelong swine and cattle farmer and owner/operator of Dixon Springs Feed Store. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, New Columbia Masonic Lodge and a 4H Leader with interest in Swine and Cattle. He helped with FFA, was an Honorary Chapter FFA Degree of Massac County FFA Chapter and was president of Shawnee Pork Producers for many years. Jack was an Army veteran and was serving on the DMZ Line on November 11, 1964 when the Vietnam War started.  

Jackie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rubie Morse; three children, Brian Morse, Todd Morse and wife Christi; and Sandra Greenwald and husband Devin; five grandchildren, Brian Keith Morse and wife Chelsea, Christopher Morse, Kristyn Morse and fiancé Mike Hall, Will Morse and Kathryn Morse; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Paula Pike and Kathryn Crowell and husband George; one brother, Dayle Morse and wife Pat; sister-in-law, Roberta Morse; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Missouri (Bowman) Morse; three sisters, Elva Ruth Hager; Gloria Benavidez, and Gayle West; one brother, Bill Morse; three nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday night, March 4, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Masonic Rites at 6 pm and on Thursday, March 5th from 10 to 11 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
