Helen D. Howell

Helen D. Howell, 78 of Georgetown, IL, formerly of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Bryan Morrison officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Helen was a member of the First Church of God in Metropolis. She retired from Hancock’s in Paducah in 2019 as a fabric cutter. She loved her dog, Benji, who preceded her, and her cat, Spook.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Tammy D. Hill of Georgetown, IL; grandson, Cody W. Hill and wife Tori of Ogden, IL; two great grandchildren, Hudson W. Hill and Huxley M. Hill; brother, David L. Green (Anka) of Middletown, RI; nieces, Ashley D. Green of Middletown, RI, and Ashley D. Powell (William) of Georgetown, IL; nephews, Andrew Green (Pooja) of New York and Loren Green (Layni) of Danville, IL; one great niece and five great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dellas and Edith (Bean) Green; husband, Gary R. Howell; three brothers, Charles Green, Ernest Green, and Thomas Green.
