Harry Orval Scott, Sr.

Harry Orval Scott, Sr., age 92 of Metropolis, Illinois went to be with his faithful on December 2, 2022 at the Massac Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Cole officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Brownfield, Illinois.

Harry was born on September 26, 1930 in Grantsburg, Illinois the son of Henry Orval and Sudie (Johnson) Scott. He married Elisabeth Quoika on January 26, 1956. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2019. Harry served in the United States Army 594 Field Artillery Battalion as a Communications Specialist during the Korean War. He worked at the Job Corp as a Masonry Instructor and was an avid motorcycle rider.

Harry is survived by his sons, Randolph Scott and wife Gena, Tyrone Scott and wife Marife, and Glenn Scott and wife Kim; grandchildren, Angel, Josh, Elise, Krista, Tyleigh, Samuel, and Hannah Scott and Aften Whitener; 20 great grandchildren; close cousin, Betty Kendall; and a host of friends and family.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 63 years; an infant daughter, Heide; son, Harry Scott, Jr.; grandsons, Ryan Scott and Eric Shane Bunch.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 11 am until 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
