Harold G. Norris

Mr. Harold G. Norris died unexpectedly but peacefully in his daughter’s home in Orlando, FL on March 5, 2024 at the age of 86 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Anderson Congregational Church in Boaz, IL, with Rev. Gerell Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.

Harold worked at and retired from Elgin State Hospital for 40 years. When he and his wife, Beverly moved to Karnak, he worked for the Post Office for several years before he quit when she became sick. Harold was a member of Anderson Congregational Church and loved watching sports, especially football, baseball and high school basketball.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Shirley Norris (Michael Gillis) of Orlando, FL; four grandsons, Jason Lauritzen (Megan) of Cashton, WI, James Lauritzen (Megan) of Sparta, WI, Jessie Lauritzen (Amanda) of Midland GA; and John Lauritzen, Jr. of Orlando, FL; nine great grandkids, Emma Leigh, Joyce, Gage, Eric, Logan, Aaron, Saphira, Jasper and Olivia Lauritzen; brother-in-law, William Holt (Nancy); nephew, Billy Holt (Sumar) and their children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Norris; ex-wife, Judy Norris; brother, Kenneth Norris; mother, Frida Norris; and great granddaughter, Evely Lauritzen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14th at the Anderson Congregational Church from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral at 12 noon.
