Gordon McIntosh

Gordon D. McIntosh, age 74 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:31 am on Friday, January 2, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

Per his wishes there will not be any services at this time. There will be a graveside service on Memorial Day 2026 in Bland, MO.

Gordon was a great husband, father, grandfather, and businessman. He was a skilled craftsman who built multiple houses and additions in this area. He had served as an Alderman of Ward 4 in Metropolis, and as a Boy Scout leader for many years.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 48 years, Paula McIntosh; sons, Ben Hester (Sarah) and John McIntosh; daughter, Leah McIntosh Long; precious grandchildren, Jack Reed, Jayden Reed, Dustin Hutman (Taylor); great grandson, Ezra Hutman; brother, Bill McIntosh; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Dorothy Brown; brothers-in-law, Frank Brown (Tammy), Ronnie Brown, and Allen Houtz.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Lucille McIntosh; siblings, Larry McIntosh (Renee), Janice Houtz, and Don McIntosh (Cheryl).
