Gary Lynn

Gary Lynn of Brookport, Illinois passed away on June 7, 2024 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky with his loving family by his side. Gary was born on June 8, 1941 to Truman and Hettie (Davidson) Lynn on their farm in Massac County.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Lori Lynn and LeiAndra (Lynn) Jones; son-in-law, Jack Allen Jones, M.D., along with their children, Jessica and Garrett Jones.

Gary loved farming from the time he was a young boy (once a farmer, always a farmer!). He was most happy when on his tractor farming his land. He thought it a privilege to be able to do what he loved. He also enjoyed working on his equipment and machinery in his shop, as he was an avid mechanic.

Gary deeply loved his family. He loved his soulmate Sharon. They were happily married for 61 ½ years. He taught his daughters, Lori and LeiAndra, to be self-sufficient and to appreciate nature’s process. He loved being with his grandchildren, Jessica and Garrett, and enjoyed watching them grow.

Gary was kind and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He appreciated his friends and spending time with them. Gary loved life and enjoying good times with the people he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Wednesday, June 12th at the funeral home.
