Evelyn Elizabeth (Terrell) Denson

Evelyn Elizabeth Denson, 86, of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Metropolis. A homemaker all her life, she loved cooking and baking for her family and friends. Evelyn had a love for volunteering and helping others when in need.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis with Virgil Cox officiating. Burial will follow the service at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Evelyn is survived by her three sons, Chuck Denson and wife, Rhonda, of Paducah, Bill Denson and wife, Debra of Katy, Texas, and John Denson of Paducah; grandchildren, Jason Denson and his wife, Heather of Houston, Texas, Eric Denson and his wife, Shannon of Edwardsville, Illinois, Chad Denson and his wife, Lindsey of Louisville, Chase Denson and wife, Whitney of Paducah, Phillip Patterson and wife, Paige of Katy, Texas, and Jacqueline Denson and Nick Denson of Katy, Texas; great-grandchildren Alex Denson, Mackenzie Patterson, Kate Denson, Alli Denson, Lilah Patterson, Hallie Denson, and Gus Denson; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles (Jack) Denson; parents, George and Hazel Terrell; and three siblings.

Evelyn’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to her nurses and caregivers at Parkview Nursing Home and at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health, and to their lifelong friends, Jim and Joanie Klankey of Brookport, Illinois.

Visitation will be held before the service from 9 am until 11 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
