Edwin Varnum Obituary
Edwin Eugene Varnum, 70, passed away on Nov. 4, 2016 at Lourdes Hospice Center in Paducah, KY. He was born in Murphysboro, IL to Howard and Elsie Varnum.
He is survived by a son, Mark Varnum (DeAnna) of Metropolis, IL; a daughter, Michelle Varnum Holder (Ken) of Osceola, IN; a sister, Patricia Conrad (Tom) of Murphysboro, IL; a brother Howard Wesley Varnum (Linda) of Red Bud, IL; 8 grandchildren, Scott, Tenneson, Taylor, Emily, Ethan Varnum of Metropolis, IL, Dylan and Brittney Souza of Osceola, IN, and Maggie Holder of Osceola, IN; a niece, Tiffani Varnum of Wesley Chapel, FL; and 3 nephews, Nathan Conrad (Amy) of Alton, IL, Keith Conrad (Jennifer) of Lawrence, KS, and Curt Varnum (Staci) of Wesley Chapel, FL, and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Elsie Varnum; grandparents, Gus & Minnie Varnum, and Minnie & Henry Sauerbrunn; a son-in-law, Jeffrey Souza; and his wife, Barbara Couch Varnum.
He attended and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran School /Church in Murphysboro and was a 1964 graduate of Murphysboro Township High School.
His occupation included construction, Hannon Supply, Schneider Trucking Co. and Walmart. He was a loyal member of Victory Assembly of God Church in Paducah, KY.
No services to be held at the deceased request. Family graveside burial at a later date. He will be laid to rest in Smithland Cemetery in Smithland, KY.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations are made to Lourdes Hospice Center PO Box 7100 Paducah, KY 42002 and the LLS Foundation 301 E. Main St. Suite 100, Louisville, KY 40202.
