Diane McGill

Diane McGill, age 85 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:36 pm on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Gaither Suites at West Park surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy A. Bean officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Diane was retired from Massac Unit 1, was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Triangle Fishing and Hunting Club.

Diane is survived by her husband of 41 years, Byron “Barney” McGill; children, Dan Stitt and wife Cindy, Linda Booker and husband Michael, Leesa Foster and husband Preston, and Doug McGill; grandchildren, Olivia Schnibbe (Nils), Emma Lieberman (Ethan), Mike Booker, Kristin Dawson (Aaron), Gabe McGill, Andrew McGill, Johanna McGill, Stephen McGill, Scott McGill (Sara), and Deanna McGill; great grandchildren, Liam Schnibbe, Oliver Schnibbe, Mia Schnibbe, Finn Schnibbe, Asher Dawson, Kegan McGill and Reece McGill.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Oles Milton and Lilly (Workman) Lindsey; son, Kenneth McGill; sister, Virginia Nickias; brother, William Milton Lindsey.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 9 am to 11 am at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Diane’s name to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 520 Ferry Street, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
