Deborah "Debbie" Darlene (Meyer) Hunt

Deborah “Debbie” Darlene Hunt, age 71 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 6:25 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 10 am to 12 noon followed by a Celebration of Debbie’s life at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with her longtime friend Steve Heisner officiating.

Debbie taught at Shawnee Community College for several years, retired from Vienna Correctional Center after 20 years, then worked at Dippin Dots for 14 years. She played the organ at Fortress Steakhouse for many years, where she made many lifelong friends.

Debbie is survived by her beloved dog, Roscoe; uncle and aunt, Billy and Betty McDaniel; step sister, Yvonne Strater (John); step brother, Ryan Fritch (Misty); special cousins, Robbin McDaniel, Zinda Baggett, Brian Baggett, and Jeff Meyer (Jan); special friends, Barbara Nix, Mary Carrell, Mary Ann Mittendorf, Debbie Loven, Diane Leonard, and Anna Jeffords; numerous other cousins and extended family.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” Meyer and Betty Jo (McDaniel) Meyer Fritch; step father, Dale Fritch.
